An official reception was held in by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Republic of China on the occasion of May 28 - Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan
The event was attended by Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mr. Liu Bin, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, ambassadors and diplomats in China and representatives of the Chinese public community.
In his speech, H.E. Bunyad Huseynov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to China, stated that the friendship ties between Azerbaijan and China have a deep history. The successful state visit of President Ilham Aliyev to China this year has opened a new chapter in the development of bilateral relations. Azerbaijan will continue to adhere to the “One-China” principle, actively participate in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" cooperation, and contribute to the sustainable development of Azerbaijan-China relations.
H.E. Liu Bin, Assistant Minister, congratulated Azerbaijan on Independence Day and noted that under the strategic planning and leadership of the two heads of state, China-Azerbaijan relations have made two significant leaps within a year, reaching the highest level in their history — comprehensive strategic partnership. The Chinese side is ready to work together with Azerbaijan to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, achieve new results in this direction, develop mutually beneficial cooperation, and continuously enrich the content of bilateral relations.
The event continued in the form of a banquet featuring dishes from the national cuisine accompanied by national music of Azerbaijan.
