President Ilham Aliyev attended the 4th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia

The 4th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia has been held in Shanghai.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the summit.

Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping met President Ilham Aliyev and other heads of state and government.

Then, the first session of the 4th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia was held.

Declaring the meeting open, Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping welcomed the heads of delegations.

Focusing on the importance of security in the world, he stressed that it was possible through dialogue and multilateral cooperation. Xi Jinping noted that cooperation at regional and international levels should be the main component of the policy pursued by participating countries. He added that the Conference had covered a successful road under the chairmanship of Turkey and adopted a number of very important decisions, and that Qatar and Bangladesh had become fully-fledged members. The Chairman of the PRC stressed that the main topics of discussion at the summit were issues of international security in the region and the world.
