The 86th session of the General Assembly of the Interpol held in Beijing.
Azerbaijani delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Vilayat Eyvazov attended the 86th session of the General Assembly of the Interpol in Beijing.
In his opening remarks during the session that brought together delegates from 158 countries, chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping emphasized Interpol`s significance in combating crime and promoting security in the world.
First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Vilayat Eyvazov had a bilateral meeting with Chinese State Councilor and Public Security Minister Guo Shengkun and his deputy Li Wei within the framework of the event.
The General Assembly, which is the Interpol's supreme governing body meets annually and takes major decisions affecting general policy, the resources needed for international cooperation, working methods, finances and programs of its activities.
It also elects the Organization's Executive Committee. The Assembly takes decisions by a simple majority in the form of resolutions. Each member country represented has one vote.
