January 20 victims were honored in Beijing

An event was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Beijing commemorating the January 20 tragedy.

Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People’s Republic of China H.E. Mr. Akram Zeynalli invited the participants of the event to observe a minute of silence to honor the memory of those who tragically lost their lives that night.

Ambassador Akram Zeynalli said that the great son of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, who then lived in Moscow, went to the Azerbaijani representation with his family members to make a strong statement condemning this bloody act and brought the Azerbaijani peoples’ tragedy to the attention of the world community. Ambassador Akram Zeynalli also underlined that January 20 tragedy received a legal-political assessment only after National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s return to political power in Azerbaijan.

The event proceeded with the demonstration of a documentary dedicated to the Black January.
