Ambassador: One Belt, One Road initiative creates new opportunities for Azerbaijan
“One Belt, One Road initiative opens up new development opportunities for Azerbaijan,” said Azerbaijani Ambassador in Beijing Akram Zeynalli as he was interviewed by China’s CEC TV channel.
Ambassador Zeynalli hailed new cooperation opportunities that One Belt, One Road initiative creates for Azerbaijan and China.
He also highlighted the geostrategic position of Azerbaijan and the region where the country is located.
The ambassador pointed out the history of relations between Azerbaijan and China. He noted that China was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan. “Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on April 2, 1992. During these years, China has become one of the important trade partners of Azerbaijan,” Ambassador Zeynalli said.
“Azerbaijan was one of the first countries to support One Belt, One Road initiative put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013. Numerous agreements regarding the development of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries have been signed so far. There is no doubt that One Belt, One Road initiative creates new development opportunities for Azerbaijan,” Ambassador Zeynalli added.
