Sun Tao: The Chinese Communist Party is interested in further expanding ties with the New Azerbaijan Party

On July 23, Ali Akhmedov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party, met with a delegation led by Sun Tao, head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, who is visiting our country.

Referring to the current state of cooperation between Azerbaijan and China, as well as the New Azerbaijan Party and the Chinese Communist Party, Ali Ahmadov noted broad prospects for further development of relations.  Stressing that the ties between the peoples of the two countries have historical roots, the Deputy Prime Minister said that over the past period, our peoples have come a long way in development.  Our ties in the political, economic, humanitarian and other fields are successfully continuing.

Noting the importance of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and China, the NAP Deputy Chairman emphasized that the common economic interests, the role of both countries in restoring the historic Silk Road and other factors create the basis for the development of cooperation.

After announcing that he was in our country for the first time, the head of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Song Tao, praised the hospitality he received.  He said that at a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, a wide exchange of views took place on the current state of relations between the two countries and the development of our ties.

Song Tao noted that, under the leadership of the President of the People’s Republic of China and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, cooperation between our countries has been successfully developing, covering various areas.  The guest noted the rapid development of Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and emphasized that China was pleased with the success of Azerbaijan.

The head of the department of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party emphasized the importance of the participation of President Ilham Aliyev in the international forum “One Belt, One Way”, held in Beijing this April.  He expressed the interest of the Chinese Communist Party in further expanding ties with the New Azerbaijan Party.

A wide exchange of views on issues of mutual interest took place at the meeting.
