The city of Sumgait establishes cooperation with the Chinese city of Xi'an
A protocol of intent to establish friendly relations between Sumgait and Xi'an in China was signed. The signing ceremony was held on July 5 at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Sumgait. First, the guests got acquainted with the rich exposition about the life and activities of the National Leader.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Republic of China Akram Zeynalli, the Chargé d'Affaires of China in Azerbaijan Lee Chung Sun, the deputy head of the Xian city government Su Mingfei and the representatives of the Sumgait City Executive Power.
The Protocol of Intent was signed by the First Deputy Head of the Sumgait City Executive Power Teymur Samadov and the Deputy Head of the Sian City Government Su Mingfei.
Ambassador Akram Zeynalli said that Azerbaijani-Chinese relations are based on friendship and mutual trust. The two countries have multi-disciplinary partnerships with high development dynamics.
Akram Zeynalli stressed that Azerbaijan is interested in deepening bilateral relations with the People's Republic of China in all areas. High-level official visits and political arrangements in this context are of particular importance in developing relations.
The diplomat stressed that Azerbaijan is not only China's first supporter of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, but is also able to make a great contribution to the implementation of this strategy through its economic potential and transportation and transit opportunities. The cooperation of Sumgait and Xi'an will make a significant contribution to this development and ultimately to the successful implementation of the "One Belt, One Road"
Su Mingfei, the deputy head of the Xian city government, and China's Chargé d'affaires in Azerbaijan, Li Chin, said China is interested in expanding bilateral ties.
The sides exchanged views on prospects of cooperation in areas of mutual interest, prospects for economic relations and investment opportunities.
