In Beijing was held a lecture on "The Importance of Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus and the Azerbaijani-Chinese Relations".
A lecture on "The Importance of Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus and the Azerbaijani-Chinese Relations" was held at Beijing University of Foreign Languages, one of China's most prestigious universities and primarily for the preparation of diplomats for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Issues of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Hikmat Hajiyev, participated in the lecture, which was attended by university administration, teachers and students, as well as researchers conducting research on Azerbaijan. He highlighted about the creation of the first secular state of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in the Muslim East, its difficulties after restoring the country's independence at the end of the twentieth century and about threats.
During the lecture, it was noted that the development observed in all spheres of the Azerbaijani-Chinese relations was beneficial for both sides and stressed the contribution of Azerbaijan to the transport and logistics capabilities of the "One Belt, One Road" Initiative.
It was noted that the simplified visa regime for Azerbaijan's Chinese citizens and the "ASAN Visa" system allow more Chinese tourists to visit Azerbaijan.
Hikmat Hajiyev got acquainted with the Azerbaijani language department of the university and met with students studying on this specialty.
