The Chinese international TV channel CCTV-4 shot a multi-part documentary film about Azerbaijan.

The eight-part film, each series of which lasts 40 minutes, is presented in the framework of the project “One Belt, One Road”.

Representatives of the TV channel carried out surveys in a number of cities in Azerbaijan, provided broad information about the economy, history, culture and tourism of the country. The authors note that Azerbaijan regained its independence in 1991, and since 1992 has established diplomatic ties with China.

The film says that Azerbaijan, located between ancient civilizations, played the role of the main bridge between the East and the West in trade along the Great Silk Road.  The television film noted that traces of the ancient Silk Road still remain in every corner of Baku.  The film reflects interesting facts about Gobustan, Ateshgah, Yanardag and other historical monuments, mud volcanoes, Azeri oil, etc.

Following in the footsteps of the Silk Road, the film crew also visited Sheki, at a factory producing famous Sheki silk, made surveys on the customs and traditions of this region, as well as on preparing the signature dish of local cuisine - piti.

The TV channel devoted several series to Nakhchivan.  The film's authors conducted the shooting at the physiotherapy center of Duzdag, Alinjagala, Children's Rehabilitation Center and Nakhchivan State University.

The film also features an interview with the head of the foreign policy department of the Presidential Administration, Hikmet Hajiyev and the Chinese ambassador to Azerbaijan, Wei Jinhua.
