A videoconference on the theme “The situation in education in China after the pandemic: problems and expectations” was organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Republic of China

On May 20, 2020, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Republic of China organised a video conference on the theme “The situation in education in China after the pandemic: problems and expectations”. During the video conference all the matters related to the situation caused by the COVİD-19 epidemic in China that sparked at the beginning of this year, as well as issues related to education, were discussed.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to China Mr Akram Zeynalli during the video conference with Azerbaijani students who are studying and residing in China said that since the beginning of the spread of the COVID-19 in China, the Embassy maintained close contacts with its citizens. For that reason, the Embassy established a telephone “hotline” to deal with queries of the citizens. Ambassador Zeynalli noted that the Embassy pays special attention to the difficulties of our citizens living in this country and have been providing constant consular support. The embassy also responded to the need of the citizens who are temporarily outside of China because of the pandemic and are doing everything in its power to solve the educational problems of the students.

Ambassador Zeynalli indicated that the relevant departments of China, including the Ministry of Education and the Migration Service, maintain regular contacts with the Embassy and in this regard, comprehensive discussions are held on educational matters and visas for Azerbaijani students on a constant basis.

Then, the Ambassador answered the questions of students studying in Chinese universities and Azerbaijani citizens who are working in this country. Questions requiring a more detailed approach will be answered after a comprehensive review.
